Pear, Banana & Strawberry Smoothie Bowl

By Sarah Kermalli of Sculpted Kitchen

Being Canadian, I’m pretty lucky to experience all four seasons here. And each season is sure to bring its a-game. Winter always promises glittering snow and temperatures below freezing. Spring is always anxiously awaited with its fresh rain and blooming flowers. Summer brings endless berries that get plucked until our fingers are stained with their colours and explorations of hikes and trails with curious creatures around each corner. And then there’s autumn. You can’t help but stare in amazement of all the colours that autumn brings. Reds, oranges, and yellows are so vibrant. Early fall harvest is overflowing with cauliflower, broccoli, apples, pears and late strawberries.

This smoothie was inspired by autumn colours and tastes. A fully ripe pear paired with sweet and tart strawberries mixed with frozen bananas make this an irresistible treat to share with others or just to have by yourself. I’ve never had a pear in smoothies before but it paired so well and made it taste like a refreshing sorbet full of tangy and sweet flavours!

Did I mention that it also has some cashews and cocoa butter for some added protein and fats? I don’t often make smoothies these days but when I do, I definitely add some fats and protein to make it more of a meal and to help me feel full longer!
