Tropical Mango Smoothie

Smoothies July Valpone.JPG

There’s nothing like a smoothie on a hot summer day and these Tropical Mango Smoothies are ideal for anyone who’s in a rut from the usual morning oatmeal or cereal. I’ve combined a few of my favorite ingredients in a blender to give you lots of tropical flavors right in your own kitchen.

These smoothies are quite easy to whip up and they can be made with any dairy-free yogurt of choice. I suggest using a very ripe banana and mangoes so that you can really reap the benefits of the extra sweetness. I added a touch of honey and unsweetened coconut flakes to give you a boost of sweetness and you can easily add more coconut flakes on top if desired.

I highly recommend purchasing unsweetened coconut flakes and not regular coconut flakes so that you’re not eating refined sugar. Most people don’t realize regular coconut flakes often have sugar added to them. Other than that, this recipe is easy peasy and will surely satisfy your mid-summer cravings for something sweet in the morning or even for dessert at the end of a hot day.
