We're now deep into the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, and once again, the world's greatest athletes have managed to inspire thousands of viewers. In the midst of it all however, one man has caught everyone's attention with his Earth-friendly diet: the United States' only male weightlifter, Kendrick Farris, is completely vegan!

If there are any of us who truly need to load up on the protein, it's surely weightlifters, and Farris is showing us all that a plant-based diet can really pack a punch. In fact, fruits, veggies, nuts and legumes, and the like all help Farris to lift as much as 800 pounds! His diet has contributed to a clear mind, a cleaner body, and a positive attitude. His support wife Katrina has said after two years, "I think it’s made him better."

And while you don't have to go completely vegan, us reducetarians can certainly learn from Farris's good habits. He suggests planning ahead when its comes to meals and grocery shopping, finding inspiration from the many plant-based resources out there, and most of all, viewing his diet as a whole world of possibilities rather than as a restriction.
