New App Finds Local Meatless Restaurants
New App Finds Local Meatless Restaurants
Written by Dalton Sweet
Finding reducetarian options in the United Kingdom and Ireland is now easier than ever! Vanilla Bean, developed by four app specialists and a plant-based cafe owner, uses an individual's location to suggest nearby restaurants with niche dietary options, such as meatless, organic, and gluten-free.
Vanilla Bean is not the first app of its kind. HappyCow, created in 1999, has dominated the reducetarian scene, particularly in the United States. But Vanilla Bean distinguishes itself by having the largest and most frequently updated database for the countries in which it operates. It currently covers 1,800 restaurants across England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and Wales; and it continues to grow with each new update.
Applications and tools like these make finding reducetarian options as simple as loading up an app and seeing what you’re in the mood for. With only a few taps on your screen, you can choose to improve your health, the environment, and lives of innocent animals. Just as Vanilla Bean co-founder Fabian Kreipl says, “Many of our biggest global issues can be prevented when eating plant-based more often.”
